Immaculate white, outspread wings, celestial make-up, bodies in ecstasy: for the first time at le MeM, Ballroom Scene Rennes organises the Heaven kiki Ball, with Revery as artistic director.
A ball is, first and foremost, a celebration. Born within the Black and Latinx LTBGQIA+ communities of New York, ballroom is a space of celebration where queer and trans people built their own codes, their own families and their own forms of joy. Voguing, fashion categories, character work: every performance is an affirmation, every presence matters.
The theme of the Heaven kiki Ball: Heaven. White dresses, celestial outfits, looks that lift you up: here, heaven isn’t a destination, it’s an invitation to interpret it, inhabit it and let it explode on the dancefloor.
