Immaculate white, outstretched wings, celestial makeup, bodies in ecstasy: for the first time at le MeM, Ballroom Scene Rennes presents the Heaven Kiki Ball, with Revery as artistic director.
A ball is first and foremost a celebration. Born within New York’s Black and Latinx LGBTQIA+ communities, Ballroom is a space of celebration where queer and trans people have built their own codes, families and forms of joy. Voguing, fashion categories, embodiment: every performance is an affirmation, every presence matters.
The theme of the Heaven Kiki Ball: Paradise. White gowns, celestial outfits, looks that lift you up: here, paradise is not a destination but an invitation to interpret it, inhabit it and make it explode on the dancefloor.

Ballroom is a queer community space with its own codes and rules. Born within Black and Latinx queer and trans communities, it offered refuge where no other space did. The Kiki scene carries this history forward, opening its doors widely to younger generations. This ball is primarily dedicated to the LGBTQIA+ community. Everyone is welcome, in a spirit of openness and respect for those who built this space.
A completely safe space doesn’t exist. But together, we can make it a safer space for the night. Respect, care and listening: these are what we ask of you, and what you have every right to expect from others. Sexist and sexual violence, gender-based discrimination and racism in all their forms have no place here. A team trained in these issues will be present throughout the evening, clearly identifiable on site and available at any time if you need support.
