The Heaven kiki Ball – Ballroom Scene Rennes

In feat with Ballroom Scene Rennes and in cooperation with le MeM.
Immaculate white, outspread wings, celestial make-up, bodies in ecstasy: for the first time at le MeM, Ballroom Scene Rennes organises the Heaven kiki Ball, with Revery as artistic director.
A ball is, first and foremost, a celebration. Born within the Black and Latinx LTGBQIA+ communities of New York, ballroom is a space of celebration where queer and trans people built their own codes, their own families and their own forms of joy. Voguing, fashion categories, character work: every performance is an affirmation, every presence matters.
The theme of the Heaven kiki Ball: Heaven. White dresses, celestial outfits, looks that lift you up: here, heaven isn’t a destination, it’s an invitation to interpret it, inhabit it and let it explode on the dancefloor.
Tonight, we celebrate. Together. Welcome to Heaven.
9pm – 3am | Doors open from 8pm

Ballroom is a queer community space, with its own codes and its own rules. Born in Black and Latinx queer and trans communities, it offered a refuge where no other place would. The kiki scene carries that history forward, holding the door wide open for the youngest among us. This ball is dedicated first to the LTGBQIA+ community. Everyone is welcome, in a spirit of openness and respect for those who built this space.

No space is ever fully safe. But together, we can make it a safer space, for the length of a night. Respect, care, listening: what we ask of you, and what you’re entitled to expect from others. Sexual and gender-based violence, gender discrimination and racism, in any form, have no place here. A team trained in these issues is present all evening, easy to spot, and reachable whenever you need them.
