Tow worlds, one language

From the underground battle scene to contemporary stages, between choreography and filmmaking, Karim KH builds a universe where dance is never just movement, but also gaze, framing, and narrative.

A dancer and choreographer rooted in hip hop culture, Karim KH builds his path at the intersection of two worlds that rarely meet: the underground world of international battles and contemporary choreographic stages. It is in this in-between space that he develops a language of his own—a distinctive flow, a recognisable gestural vocabulary, and a way of inhabiting the stage shaped as much by the cypher as by choreographic creation.

Trained in Parisian studios and internationally, he quickly began sharing his vision through workshops in France and abroad. His reputation extends well beyond dance circles: he has collaborated with Stromae, France Gall, and Aloïse Sauvage, moving between music videos, stages, and screens with the same fluidity. These collaborations are not parentheses in his trajectory as an author; they feed directly into his practice.

In 2018, he founded the company KH and created his first show, BLOW. The piece lays the groundwork for a research practice around image, rhythm, and choreographic narrative. Roses, his new creation presented as part of UNDER/GROUND 2026, continues and deepens this exploration: a poetic dive into an imagination shaped by hip hop and cinematic sensibility, between reality and fiction, dream and risk-taking.

Karim KH does not limit himself to the stage. Alongside his choreographic work, he develops a practice as a director—music videos, short films, and moving images—that extends his universe beyond the stage. A coherent gesture for an artist for whom dance has always also been a matter of gaze, framing, and narrative.
