Voler le feu : anatomie de transition #2 – Jenny Victoire Charreton and Daphné Demaison

A contemporary tale, Voler le feu tells, in a universal and sensitive form, the intimate story of a life after a gender transition, like a dawn after a long night one never believed they would come out of.
For her second creation, Jenny Victoire Charreton invites Daphné Demaison, with whom she weaves together, four-handed, the words of poet Luz Volckmann, the visual creations of Mag Lévêque, puppets, testimonies, sculptures, signs and live music to create a bilingual French/LSF multimedia performance.
In a multimedia device combining illustrations, tabletop puppetry, signs and object theatre, all filmed and broadcast live, they unfold a poetic and hallucinatory inclusive universe. Drawing on the figure of Prometheus, on the imagery of fairy tales and of the dollhouse, they claim together that collective land which is the imagination of fairy tales, to tell their stories and use it to imagine a future.
Where Dans mon dessin was about the transition itself, Voler le Feu explores what comes after: how one rebuilds, how one learns to remember again, how one invents a future when part of the story has been erased.
