Interférence(s): Celebration and Resistance
In cooperation with La Criée – Centre d’art contemporain
For La Criée’s 40th anniversary, an Interférence(s) that affirms partying as a space of resistance, with Mounia Nassangar, Habibitch and Mioshe.
Mounia Nassangar built her dance in clubs. Habibitch teaches voguing at the Sorbonne, writes and campaigns. Mioshe lives, draws and thinks about partying from the margins.
At a time when free parties are banned, free festive spaces are becoming scarcer and community gathering places are disappearing, the question of partying as a space of resistance is anything but abstract. It is everyday, political, vital.
Three voices who know what dancing together means come together to talk about it head-on, in an evening unfolding in three parts: the performance No meaning, just cheering by Mounia Nassangar, followed by a meeting / discussion with all three artists, before closing with a DJ set by Habibitch, set against images from Back/Bridge, her next creation.
The night starts here.
