Maison Lou(p) – Oumrata Konan
In cooperation with the TNB – Théâtre National de Bretagne
In Maison Lou(p), Oumrata Konan questions the mechanisms of incest through the language of whacking, a dance born from the need to exist, to speak and to survive.
Drawing on her own story and on the work of anthropologist Dorothée Dussy, this piece explores the systemic violence concealed behind family façades.
The wolf, the one inside, becomes the symbol of the danger lurking at the heart of the intimate, the home, the supposedly safe place that reveals its contradictions, while the body questions the place, the voice and the role of the child.
Maison Lou(p) is Oumrata Konan’s first choreographic work. Lasting around 30 minutes, it is designed to speak to young audiences, creating a space to break the silence and dance the unspoken truths.
Each performance is followed by a discussion time led by a specialised facilitator, extending the encounter with the work in a caring, structured space for speech.
