Museums, libraries, high schools: the programme spills out of venues

Nine free events bring artistic creation into museums, libraries and everyday spaces. Four additional sessions take place outside traditional performance venues, in a high school, a hospital and social centres. Interference(s) extends the programme into contexts where it can become a space for dialogue, recognition and shared experience.
Interference(s), a continuum between places

Interference(s) extends the artistic programme directly. Each proposal is led by an artist present on the festival stages: the same works, the same bodies, the same questions, moved into other spaces and put into dialogue with different audiences.
Each session combines a short artistic form with a discussion developed with local partners, associations, social professionals, researchers and residents.
This link between stage and territory affirms a simple idea: a work can circulate and continue to act without changing its nature.

Free events, open to all

On 3 October, the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Maurepas becomes a space for dance-based experimentation: performances, encounters and workshops, where visitors can come and go freely and stay as long as they wish.
On 5 October, A conversation on the history of dance is led by Céline Roux, dance historian, at the Conservatoire de Rennes – Blosne site. The discussion explores how choreographic histories are written, what is transmitted, archived or made invisible, and the hierarchies that still structure these narratives today.
On 7 October, Mwendwa Marchand brings dancehall to the Triangle with an initiation workshop, a shared snack and a performative journey, followed by a discussion on the place of this culture within institutional spaces. The same evening, La Criée celebrates its 40th anniversary with Fête et résistance: Mounia Nassangar, Habibitch and Mioshe turn celebration into an act of resistance.
On 9 October, Linda Hayford presents Processing #13 at the Longs-Champs library, based on her work Shifting Pop, extended through a discussion connected to the venue’s collections.
On 13 October, Invisibilia (for piano) by Mackenzy Bergile takes place in the Paradis studio at TNB, through 20-minute activations inspired by unfinished music that appeared in his dreams.
On 14 October, Oumrata Konan presents Maison Lou(p) at the L’Autre Lieu media library in Le Rheu: a whacking solo addressing the silences produced by systemic incest-related violence, followed by a discussion co-built with social sector partners.
On 15 October, Archipels critiques brings together artists and thinkers around Mackenzy Bergile and Elamine Maecha, between lecture and shared research.
On 17 October, Mounia Nassangar closes the programme at TNB with POV: Whack, when & where?: a carte blanche gathering her community and anyone wishing to discover whacking, featuring exhibitions, archives of STUCK, screenings, talks and a DJ set.

All public Interference(s) events are free and open access.

Dedicated-context events

A part of Interference(s) takes place in specific contexts, with identified audiences and their support teams.
On 6 October, Mounia Nassangar presents No meaning, just cheering at the Guillaume Régnier Psychiatric Hospital, in a duet with Panda Waack. On 8 October, Suzanne Degennaro performs Limbo at the Bréquigny high school, directly within the institution. On 9 October, an Interference(s) session is developed with Rennes social centres, before Maison Lou(p) is presented on 15 October in a school version at the Le Rheu media library, for local students.
These events follow the same principle: an artistic form followed by a moment of exchange, in contexts designed for these specific situations.
