Nadia Gabrieli Kalati
Nadia Gabrieli Kalati, known by her stage name Nadéeya GK, is a choreographic artist, dancer, educator, curator, and choreographer of Cameroonian-Italian heritage. A key figure in the house dance scene in France and internationally, she has developed a singular artistic research practice where house dance, Pan-African dance heritage, bodily memory, and contemporary practices intersect.
Introduced early on to a family environment where rhythm, voice, and dance formed a living language, she followed a self-taught path before undertaking in-depth training in hip hop culture and later in house dance, notably alongside Ousmane Sy. A graduate of École des Sables, the international reference for African dance founded by Germaine Acogny, she now positions her research at the crossroads of continents, generations, and memories.
A member of the Paradox-Sal collective, she has performed in works including Queen Blood and One Shot. Her career has led her to international stages such as the Opéra National de Paris, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Biennale de la Danse de Lyon, and La Villette. She has collaborated with artists including Bintou Dembélé, Qudus Onikeku, Blick Bassy, Manu Dibango, and Angélique Kidjo.
With her company aKôT, she develops a body of work rooted in the notions of “Roots • Rituals • Recall,” where the body becomes a living archive, a space of transmission, and a territory of transformation. SAWATA, created in 2025, is her first work.
